Excellence in Rehabilitation since 1980

At Albany Physical Therapy, PC, our physical therapists treat the whole person, considering the emotional and mental components of physical recovery. At the initial examination, the physical therapist begins with a comprehensive history and then evaluates each client's biomechanics, joint mobility, range of motion, muscle strength, balance and agility. Importantly, the physical therapists set goals with our clients of what they want to achieve before discharge.

During treatment sessions, our physical therapists often utilize hands-on manual therapy which includes joint and soft tissue mobilization. The hallmark of physical therapy is that each person is provided with an individualized therapeutic exercise program that is progressed during care. In addition, when appropriate for the client's care, we offer the latest modalities including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, kinesio/athletic taping, and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization such as Astym® Soft Tissue Therapy.

Fitness & Wellness

Personal trainers and physical therapists work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. We provide fitness and wellness services to individuals 8 to 100 years of age looking to develop, maintain and restore pain free movement patterns and functional ability. Functional movement is central to what it means to be healthy.

At APT, after a complete biomechanical evaluation, our certified exercise specialist designs an exercise program specific to each client’s needs and goals. The program may incorporate elements of Pilates, the latest in core stabilization training, specific postural exercises, and strength and conditioning.
